ACCOMMODATIONS

Additionally, we can provide couples and smaller groups with luxury villas and apartments, both centrally located or situated in secluded places off the main road.

For large private or incentive groups, we mostly recommend and choose from the Kea, Icelandair or Foss hotel chains  hotels, all which are in the 3 or 4 star category and located both in Reykjavík and around the country – some pride themselves on providing levels of comfort and services well beyond their “star rating”. As for today, 2 five stars hotel are to be found in Iceland, The Retreat at the Blue Lagoon and the small boutique hotel Towersuites in Reykjavik .  5* Marriot hotel at the harbor in center of Reykjavik, with 250 rooms, will be opened in late 2019.

Last but not least, and ideally suited for both large or small groups, there is the Grimborgir Luxury hotel and apartments, a mere 30-minute drive from Reykjavík. This complex includes a group of low-rise buildings and villas, complete with hot tubs to soak in while enjoying the lovely natural surroundings of lava and birch trees.

To give you an idea of the variety on offer and help you make a choice for your customized tour, we would like to present a few of our favorite accommodations – some of them managed/owned by our special partners.

TRANSPORTATION

We offer a wide variety of transportation for those traveling in Iceland – depending on our clients´ preferences, on what they especially want to experience, their time and budget. Some of the transportation options presented here are more than a transport-based activity.

Ring-road summer travel

For ring-road summer travel, as well as all-year trips to destinations within the Golden Circle and the south coast, we offer “ordinary” cars and busses, as well as luxury cars and limousines with or without a driver or driver/guide for shorter and longer distances, all matching your preferences and budget.

Self-drive

Self-drive has become quite popular and car rental agencies in Iceland offer vehicles to meet all needs, e.g. standard two or four door cars to oversized super-jeeps designed for rough terrain use and glacier travel. We have a number of car rental companies and a range of hire options to choose from. For those choosing a self-drive in Iceland during winter time we strongly emphasize that all safety precautions should be followed. www.safetravel.is

ACTIVITIES & LEASURE

In essence, Iceland is the perfect destination for all those that seek a place to unwind, to relax away from all the hassle and stress of everyday life. And of course it´s a paradise destination for nature-lovers, photographers and bird-watchers – indeed anyone looking for that special and unique experience.

Although most visitors come for the diverse nature and spectacular scenery, more and more want to learn about the nation´s culture. For those there are museums all over the country exhibiting the country´s heritage and history, as well as rural communities offering unique insights into the local way of life.

Throughout the year there are many events and festivals taking place all over Iceland. Reykjavík hosts a number of large annual celebrations such as Cultural Night, Gay Pride and the Icelandic Airwaves music festival when thousands of people gather together in the capital. www.visitreykjavik.is/festivals

Towns and villages around the country also celebrate their special local events and host various festivals. The chances are that somewhere in Iceland there might be one or more festivals going on during your visit, offering you a wonderful opportunity to meet the locals, make friends and learn about the Icelandic way of life.

As Iceland´s unique and diverse nature is the reason for most visitors coming here, we´ve placed a variety of outdoor and leisure activities on our list. Most activities are to be enjoyed by guests of all ages and during all seasons, but a few are summer-only or winter-only, like spotting the Northern Lights. Some activities guests might consider suitable only for those who are athletic and/or seeking an adrenaline rush, but rest assured our activity service providers will assist you in participating at your own pace and comfort – and if not assured, then there are lots of other activities to choose from.

DINING

Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, is today one of Europe´s most exciting cities when it comes to dining out. Taking advantage of the world´s freshest seafood, its unique mountain-raised lamb and a variety of game, the northernmost capital of the world is now a prime destination for those wishing to enjoy the best of New Nordic cuisine. The city has numerous fine dining restaurants where young ambitious chefs are making their mark by offering gourmet feasts from the freshest of ingredients. We are proud of the only  Michelin starred restaurant, Dill, located down town Reykjavik
