Thorsmork
Thorsmork area in and around the valley of Thorsmork is one of Iceland’s most popular hiking areas. A variety of walking tours are possible in the area, from hiking on mountains or onto glaciers to jeep tours and mountain biking
The valley is completely enclosed by dormant volcanoes and glaciers, Myrdalsjokull glacier being at the eastern end of it, Tindafjallajokull glacier to the north and the world famous Eyjafjallafjokull glacier to the south. This leads to an especially warm climate, warmer than in the rest of South Iceland, so during summer the weather can be quite balmy and calm. Thorsmork is very popular amongst hikers that enjoy staying in the local huts or camping out in the beautiful surroundings.
